'Stranger Things' star Priah Ferguson talked to Seventeen about her role in season 4 of the Netflix series and dished on what she plans to do in the future. The video received such an overwhelmingly positive response, the non-profit asked her to become the official Spokeskid for their Atlanta chapter. In 2015, she was chosen to do a video for United Way of Greater Atlanta. She has also appeared on VH1 "Daytime Divas," and the PBS series "Mercy Street," along with leading and supporting roles for several award-winning short films and commercials. Within a year of signing to a notable Atlanta-based agency, she landed a role on the critically acclaimed FX series "Atlanta," created by Donald Glover. Program directors from various camps and workshops encouraged her parents to seek agency representation, as she expressed her desire to become a professional actress. Priah went on to say that she thinks Erica’s family encouraged her to find her purpose, which allowed her to blossom into the vivid personality we’ve grown to love on the Netflix series. Introduced to performing arts at the age of 5, she immediately loved theatre where her natural timing and profound delivery in both comedic and theatrical roles was rare. Her parents, also artistic, recognized her outgoing and imaginative spirit, along with her passion for dance. Her old-soul and quick-wit charm always had people in stitches. She is best known for her breakout role as Erica Sinclair on season 2 of Stranger Things. Similar to the sentiment behind the saying “Black people aren’t a monolith,” it’s important to acknowledge that Black people from Atlanta aren’t a monolith either. Over the last several years, we’ve seen different versions of Atlanta make their way to television and film screens, like 2006's ATL and Donald Glover's FX series Atlanta, but we haven’t seen it all. Priah had joined the cast in season two as Erica Sinclair - the acerbic icecream loving little sister of Lucas.
